Mitzvah Day Akron involves 8-10 congregations—NCCC, Faith Lutheran, St. Hilary, Fairlawn West, New Hope Baptist, Temple Israel, Akron First Seventh Day Adventist, ISAK, The UU Church of Akron, and others– that gather for two days to work on various community-based projects. The weekend ends with a dinner at Temple Israel. Congregations sign-up for projects such as painting a home for a family, sprucing up the grounds, knitting scarves, doing crafts with kids, etc.
