Maundy Thursday commemorates the Last Supper that Jesus shared with His disciples. As we share the sacrament, I invite you (as you watch the service) to have a small piece of bread and a small cup of juice (or water) available for the time when we will commune together.
Prior to communion, we will also sing together – “Let Us Break Bread Together on Our Knees” – and the lyrics are . . .
Let us break bread together on our knees;
Let us break bread together on our knees;
When I fall on my knees with my face to the rising sun,
O Lord, have mercy on me.
Let us drink wine together on our knees;
Let us drink wine together on our knees;
When I fall on my knees with my face to the rising sun,
O Lord, have mercy on me.
Let us praise God together on our knees;
Let us praise God together on our knees;
When I fall on my knees with my face to the rising sun,
O Lord, have mercy on me.
Let me again express my deep appreciation to Carol Davis, Joan Lannock, and Hal Horton for taking the time to help us with the video for our services.
May you be forever embraced with God’s steadfast love.
Peace,
tom
